McIntyre awarded Order of the Long Leaf Pine


LUMBERTON, NC (WWAY) -- Rep. Mike McIntyre is North Carolina's newest member of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

The Congressman received the award last night in his hometown of Lumberton.

The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is awarded by the governor as the state's highest civilian honor.

His staff nominated him for the award.

McIntyre is leaving the US House in January after serving southeastern North Carolina for for 18 years.

An earned honor...

Congressman McIntyre earned this honor. This area will be lucky to get a congressman half as committed to helping his constituents as Mr. McIntyre was. Lord knows (yes, Erlkoenig LOF, a capital L)David Rouzer won't give a tin squat about the folks in Brunswick and New Hanover Counties.
