WPD: Man caught stealing from CFCC construction site

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A man is jail and scheduled to make his first court appearance today after Wilmington Police say they caught him trying to steal from a college construction site last night.

A WPD spokesman says a security company reported their cameras at the construction site for Cape Fear Community College's Cultural Arts Building at 702 N. 3rd St. showed a man walking around the site and building around 8:45 p.m.

When officers got there they say they found Jason Palacio, 41, walking out of the building carrying construction parts and equipment. They charged Palacio with breaking and entering and larceny from a construction site. He was booked in the New Hanover County Jail under $5,000 bond.

Police say the stolen items were returned.
