WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man faces up to 20 years behind bars after he pleaded guilty in federal court to child pornography charges yesterday.

Police say Todd Balo, 48, was arrested after an investigation in 2012 revealed he was using a peer-to-peer network called Gigatribe out of the Wilmington area. When Balo was interviewed, that’s when police say he confessed to sharing child pornography files with others over the past seven years.

After finding and seizing a slew of computers, hard drives and cell phones, police say they found more than 7,000 pictures and nearly 300 videos of child pornography. Balo is scheduled to be sentenced in December. He faces up to 20 years in prison for those crimes.

Because you seem to be the ‘dumb head’ here. Just because he may not have physically touched a kid doesn’t mean he didn’t mess with them. The pictures/videos had to be made at some point involving, wait for it, a kid. Try using your head for more than just a place to keep a silly hat.

No where in this article does it say that he messed with anyone. This crime is the crime that is international. Child porn is passed on from country to country where it is legal and there are US citizens that travel to those countries that actually take part in this kind of behavior. You will never really know who is sitting next to you in any gathering place such as a concert or in church that are into this disgusting activity. Grow up people there are children all over the world that are being exploited in this way as a way to to make money for their pimps/parents/family.
This guy got caught via cyberspace. Not by any local cop or investigator but by a specialized unit that looks at this stuff day in and day out. It is a really lousy way to make a living watching others be so cruel to children but somebody has to do the job. Just sayin!

Don’t mess with kids. He should have a rough time in prison.

Please pray for all the innocent victims of child pornography and sexual assault. Please pray that GOD will free the children from all the suffering they are experiencing by adults. As a child sexual assault survivor I can tell you that my life has been turned upside down from the evil that was done to me. I am attending counseling but it will take a lifetime to heal, my lifetime. Please pray for all those who have been sexually abused. If you do, thank you, your prayer is for me also.

I have people close to me who were molested more than thirty years ago and they still have issues. They didn’t have the benefit of parents who believed in counseling. Two have fared very well in life, one has fared fairly well and a fourth uses it as a crutch. I pray for them and I will pray for you as well.

Guest 2020, thank you for your prayers. Today is a really hard day and your post has really lifted my spirits. My abuse was also over 30 years ago. I was never able to tell my parents and they are both gone now. Shame kept me from telling my story but not any more. I do not have the shame. The bad people have the shame. My alcoholism led me to counseling for and then once I trusted someone I was able to admit to the sexual abuse. It has been a very difficult journey.
Thank you again for you kind words and prayers.
Please keep praying for us. You never know whose life you can change with your kindness. GOD BLESS YOU and I am praying for your friends also.
