WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It was an “egg-cellent” day for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina in Wilmington.

North Carolina’s commercial egg farmers donated more than 250,000 eggs. The donation is part of the Good Egg Project, which helps encourage people to eat well.

“We have a responsibility as being food providers that we know not everyone has the ability sometimes to put food on their table,” egg farmer John Brinn said. “It’s what we feel’s necessary. It’s what we’re here for, and we enjoy doing it whenever we have the opportunity.”

Organizers say each participating farmer donated 60,000 eggs.

If you want to get involved, go online and visit goodeggproject.org, and make a pledge to donate.

… I would leave. I’m too fragile for this rough kind of eggs-istance. I’m so shattered, I feel like I’m merely a shell of my former self. The way I feel right now; it’s highly unlikely that even all the king’s horses and all the king’s men could ever put me completely together again. Those comments were so off the wall!

What, are you some hard-boiled bad egg or something? You out to eggs-tract revenge for some eggs-agerated imaginary offense that you think was laid on you? That’s a pretty half-baked thing to do.

While this donation is certainly most egg-cellent, that’s a lot of perishable eggs to receive at one time. Let’s hope they don’t run a-fowl of distribution problems and wind up with egg on their face by having received all of their eggs in one basket. Maybe they actually chickened out and took delivery in smaller increments.

On another note: Who’s the dumb cluck that figured out that if each farmer donated 60,000 eggs, that total would somehow come out to 250,000? Last time I checked, the closest one could get to that number was 10,000 less than that. Why play a shell game with the numbers when they’re already great? Whoever you are; it looks like the yoke’s on you.

You were rambling – indicative of a person who’s brain signals are scrambled – or perhaps outright fried? At least you weren’t mean, indicating that your “sunnyside” was indeed up.
I have read these somewhere before did you poach these from somewhere? Perhaps they came from the Bearnaise book of Barbs? Or from the Hollandaise book of Hilarities?
(I have GOT to lay off the sauce(s))
