WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Sheila Brothers at the Wilmywood Daily reports another movie is coming to Wilmington.

She says resumes are now being accepted for “Blue Mountain State: The Movie.”

The comedy starring Alan Ritchson (Hunger Games) and Denise Richards (Wild Things) is a story about three incoming freshmen attending football powerhouse Blue Mountain State and how they adapt to college life juggling football, girls, classes and even hazing.

The original TV was a comedy series that premiered on Spike back in 2010. Filmmakers looked at multiple locations including Montreal, then almost decided on South Carolina before choosing Wilmington before the film incentives expire at the end of the year.

Yeah…. the next time you have a thought, any thought… Just let it go.

  • BMS Fan says:

The show has great writers, great actors and is a comedy about college. Since Wilmington is a college town and is very well known for drinking, this is a perfect movie to come here. This “little indie film” comes with a huge fan base from the show. You don’t need to spend millions of dollars to make something great. A movie doesn’t represent the town or location that is used in production. As for “almost pornographic”, I would guess that you haven’t seen the show. Did you feel this concerned when Iron Man 3 was filmed here? Is that not a violent movie? Fighting, shooting, explosions. You’re judgement seems to be very closed minded.

  • Concerned says:

Again you make a big deal about a little low budget 1.5 mil. movie. Real movies spend more than that in a day! Give it up already. Do you REALLY know the subject matter of this little indie film? Almost pornographic. Is this the kind of garbage you want to be shot here? I think not.

  • HailSeizure ! says:

So WWAY, you’re saying that if the incentives had already expired they would have filmed somewhere else? I can’t find any info anywhere that states that. Where did you get that info from and if you had it why didn’t you publish it?

This news article smells just like someone’s personal opinion, not something a news professional would write.

Prove me wrong and tell us specifically where you got that information. I rather be wrong than find out you’re just publishing a lot of garbage.

  • faceless says:

I am fairly confident the incentives is referring to kickstarter where this movie received it’s funding. I think if they do not start filming by the end of the year they have to return the money. Not certain, but I think that’s it.

  • Michellle says:

I just don’t get why people have negative opinions. So what if it’s a college film..a low budget film..whatever it is be supportive that Wilmington is gettting it’s name out there for bigger things to come. And incentive lady…find the informaiton by yourself. This is a legit article. There is no need to post crazy lady stuff. Just saying :)

Hurry and get those resumes out!! Real actors head to the Big Apple to see what they really have, and they wait on tables and bar tend when they are not working. Cant same for the “actors” around here.
