WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Family YMCA after-school programs will be moved to the Temple Baptist Activity Center all week following a fire that sparked there this weekend.
Wilmington fire crews say no one was hurt in the fire that sparked in a second floor sauna at the YMCA at 2710 Market Street. Firefighters say the fire has been ruled accidental at this time.
There’s no word yet on how much damage the flames caused as investigators continue to look into the fire. According to YMCA CEO Dick Jones, YMCA leaders will discus the how they will move forward after the fire.
Jones said that the after school programs for the YMCA will be meeting at Temple Baptist Activity Center. Jones encourages folks to stay updated on the future of the Wilmington Family YMCA on their website and Facebook page.
At lask check, the YMCA’s website shows that all after-school programs will be held at Temple Baptist Activity Center through Friday. It also shows all other programs will be cancelled until further notice.
