2 armed robberies involving restaurant employees reported

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are looking into two armed robberies that involve employees of different Wilmington restaurants.

The first incident happened around 11:00 p.m. and involved a delivery driver for Lucky Star Chinese. Police say three men approached the victim in the parking lot of The Preserve at Pine Valley apartments on South College Road. The victim told police one of the men called in an order. Money and food was taken. The deliveryman was not hurt.

Police say about 30 minutes later, another armed robbery was reported, this time at Henry’s Restaurant near the intersection of Independence and Shipyard boulevards. They say a woman was robbed after walking out of the restaurant by three male suspects. The victim told police they tried to get her to take them inside but then left. Money, a purse, wallet and two cell phones were taken in that incident. She was not hurt.

There have been no details released about a description for any of the suspects besides that the first incident involved two black males and one white male, while the second incident involved two black males and one male with an unknown race. Police are not sure if the two incidents are linked at this point.
