WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating after a pizza delivery driver says he was robbed and attacked last night.
WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley says the Domino’s driver was delivering an order to 3401 Wilshire Blvd. around 10:30 p.m. He told police as he walked toward an apartment, he noticed a black male about 6′ tall, thin build, shoulder-length dreads wearing dark shorts and a dark shirt. The driver says the man walked by and said, “Pizza pizza,” as he walked off toward the parking lot
After making the delivery the driver said he was walking back to his car when he was grabbed from behind and told to hand over the money or be shot. The driver said there may have been a gun pressed up against his chest. The driver handed over the money, and the suspect hit him in head and ran off heading north on Rosemont Ave.
Wilmington Police tried to track the suspect, but could not find anyone.
