WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Community Boys & Girls Club hosted the 4th Annual Larry Legend D.R.E.A.M.S. Anti-Bullying, Drug Awareness and Higher Education Program.
The event uses the universal language of basketball to help kids build self esteem and show them how to be positive and productive in life.
Lawrence “Larry Legend” Gadsden said, “It’s important to let kids know that somebody hears their pain, somebody understands their struggles. Obviously I’ve been a kid once in my life too. I’ve been this. Everything I talk about, it’s actually what I’ve been through.”
Gasden also said he’s thankful for all of the community members who helped to make the event happen.
