WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — From Korea to Mexico, UNCW visitors got a chance to see the world at the university’s annual Intercultural Festival.

This is the 23rd year of the festival that takes place during homecoming weekend. Students and community organizations set up booths to represent countries from around the world and provide items and information about those countries.

Coordinator Jennifer Fernandez- Villa says the event remains free so everyone in the community can learn and enjoy it.

“It’s really a time for UNCW students, faculty, staff, and the Wilmington broader community in general, to come out and really take advantage of the cultural diversity we have here,” Fernandez-Villa said.

The event also hosted cultural performances and provided food from various cultures. The doors will be open until 2 p.m. Saturday.
