WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Happening this weekend, kick up your healthy with the ‘Healthy Living Festival’.
The ‘Healthy Living Festival’ features a Charity Chefs Challenge. Eight local chefs, each representing a different charity, will compete to create meals with surprise ingredients, revealed just before the challenge starts.
Event promoter Martin Case tells us the event was inspired by his work with people with dementia. Case says “I know that if I can get people engaged in their own lives… we can actually reduced the incidences of dementia by fifty percent.”
About 100 vendors will be at the festival with everything from Zumba demonstrations, to clay wheel activities, and doctors with medical advice. There will even be activities for kids, including bouncy houses and laser tag. Six local bands will be performing throughout the day.
Case tells us it offers information for all aspects of healthy living.
The event is Saturday, April 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Battleship Park in Wilmington. This event is free and open to the public.[mappress mapid=”1399″]
