WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council heard the recommended budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
Budget Director Laura Mortell presented the proposal that includes no tax increase, maintains current services, and sets aside more money for public safety and infrastructure.
The budget documents won’t be online until tomorrow.
By law, the city council must approve the budget by July 1.
There will be a public hearing on the budget May 17 with final approval scheduled for June 21.
