$314 million Powerball winner unknown

READ MORE:
RICHMOND, IN -- Someone is holding a ticket to "easy street" tonight. It's the sole winning ticket in Saturday's Powerball lottery drawing -- and it's good for a staggering $314 million. A Richmond, IN gas station sold the ticket but who won it? That's still the big mystery. The winner hasn't come forward yet to claim the gigantic jackpot. And people in the small town near the Indiana-Ohio state line are on pins and needles. Richmond resident Kathleen Senese said, "Two of my children live out of town and both of them called last night, 'Did dad hit the Powerball?' I said, I don't think so, he would have told me, but if we find out differently I'll let you know." Lottery officials aren't sure if one person or a group of people went in on the winning ticket. Whoever it is they're rich. With no winner in two months, the jackpot had been jumping higher and higher. Store clerk Elizabeth Schieble said, "It's just funny to watch all the people buy Powerballs that don't normally buy them." Lottery machines were in overdrive late last week in nearly 30 states, from Connecticut to Colorado, Oregon to Massachusetts. But it's no surprise the winning ticket was sold in the Hoosier state. Indiana leads the nation in Powerball riches, with 34 jackpot-winning tickets sold since Powerball started. And this isn't a first for Richmond, either. Mark Thacke with the Hoosier Lottery said, "About nine years ago there was a, I believe there was a $220 million jackpot that happened at a speedway store in Richmond, and I thought it might even be the same store, but it was just across town, so I guess lightning did strike twice at the same time in the same city." This time, townspeople can't wait to find out who is the multi-millionaire among them?
