READ MORE:
CHARLOTTE -- Authorities say a mother, her daughter and a 13-year-old boy have been killed after a wreck vehicle involved in a street race. Police told The Charlotte Observer that 45-year-old Cynthia Furr was turning out of her southwestern Charlotte neighborhood Saturday evening on to state Highway 49 when a 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse slammed into her Mercedes. Authorities say Furr and her 2-year-old daughter died shortly after the wreck, while 13-year-old Hunter Holt, a passenger in the Eclipse, died Sunday afternoon. The driver of the Eclipse, 20-year-old Tyler Stasko, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney. Police are trying to determine who drove a Camaro racing the Eclipse. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
