HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Damage estimates are in from three of the six tornadoes that ripped through North Carolina late last month.
Officials told The High Point Enterprise the tornadoes in Guilford and Davidson counties on March 28 caused almost $12 million in damage.
High Point's city manager says the tornado in his city did $10 million in damage, destroying 40 homes and businesses and damaging about 600 more.
Davisdon County's emergency services director says two tornadoes that hit the county caused about $1.8 million in damage, destroying 20 homes and damaging 40 more houses.
The National Weather Service says tornados last month also struck in Person, Gaston and Rowan counties.
