43-foot 'tree' being installed at NC Museum of Art

READ MORE:
RALEIGH -- The North Carolina Museum of Art is closed until April as a new building is completed, but work already is starting on installing new pieces of art. A 43-foot, stainless steel, tree-like sculpture called "Askew" was being installed Tuesday and Wednesay outside the museum in Raleigh. Because the installation is occurring in an active construction zone, the event is not open to the public. "Askew" is part of a series of works by artist Roxy Paine that he describes as "dendroids" - arboreal or tree-like forms with elaborate branching structures. Paine's structures are found at various museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he installed a tree-like sculpture titled "Maelstrom" on the roof.
