READ MORE:
CHARLOTTE -- Police say four people were injured in a four-vehicle wreck on an interstate highway caused when a flock of geese tried to cross the roadway. The Charlotte Observer reported Sunday that the incident occurred about 9:46 a.m. on Interstate 485 near South Boulevard and that the road was shut down briefly. North Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Ben Miller said one vehicle had slowed to avoid the geese, but was hit by another car and a motorcycle. A fourth vehicle also collided one other car. Miller said the motorcycle driver and his companion had broken bones. Information from: The Charlotte Observer, http://www.charlotte.com (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. Interestingly...

I stopped for a flock of geese yesterday about 2:30pm across from Greenfield Lake. A lady had pulled over at was "assisting" the geese as they crossed Carolina Beach Road. Fortunately, this lady was able to lead her flock safely to the other side. I shudder to think had she not assisted the geese, how many drivers would have continued on...killing/injuring who knows how many. Maybe City Council will mobilize a task force, consider a referendum, and station a "Goose" officer at this site. :) Or at least put up a "Goose crossing" sign.
