80-year-old suspect in death of wife suffering from Alzheimer's

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office is investigating whether an 80-year-old man shot and killed his wife at an Alzheimer's care center before turning the gun on himself.

Investigators found 80-year-old Harriett Hargrove dead from gunshot wounds to the head late last night at Alzheimer's Related Care in Jacksonville. Deputies said her husband Curtis also had a gunshot wound to the head and remains in critical condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Deputies say they found a small handgun at Alzheimer's Related Care they believe was used in the shooting.
