ACLU: Marijuana arrests in NC racially biased

The American Civil Liberties Union says new figures show arrests for marijuana possession are racially biased in the country and North Carolina, where blacks account for 50 percent of the arrests while comprising 22 percent of the population.

The Council of State has approved a lease agreement to let a wood pellet maker build a facility at the State Port of Wilmington. The North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors approved the deal with Enviva Holdings, LP last week.
