It's been one year since Ronald Conyers Jr. was found dead in an alley near downtown Wilmington. His murder remains unsolved, but investigators say they are getting closer. That's news his mother Samantha Buchanon has been waiting for.

Wilmington City Council is considering annexing part of Monkey Junction. Some folks who live there protested on the steps of City Hall Friday, saying they live in the county for a reason: because they do not want to pay city taxes.

In August 2006, 28 year-old Billy Wade Russ went missing in Brunswick County. A seven-week search ended when Russ' neighbor found Russ' decomposed body in his backyard. Now, evidence evidence released in the suspension of Sheriff Ron Hewett suggests he could have done more in the search.
