TRAFFIC ALERT: North 3rd closed at Red Cross Friday & Monday

North 3rd Street, at the Red Cross Street intersection, will be closed Friday and Monday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. while a new sewer line is installed underneath the road.

State senators say they have votes to block Monkey Junction annexation

video State Senators Thom Goolsby and David Rouzer announced today they have enough support to pass a bill that's already passed in the House when they go back to the General Assembly. If it becomes law, it would stop forced annexation in Monkey Junction through the end of the year. But the effort does not stop there.

Heroin dealer sentenced to 11 years in prison

A convicted heroin dealer will spend more than a decade in prison. A federal judge sentenced Arthur Curtis King, 51, of Wilmington to 11 years behind bars.
