Local schools locked down after shooting

For the third time in the past two months a number of local schools went on lockdown Wednesday. This time it was in response to a shooting on 11th and Orange Streets.

The debate over whether the Pender County community of Hampstead should be incorporated is over. The vote wasn't even close. Seventy-two percent of voters said no. If Tuesday night's election results were any indication people like Flack are happy with the Hampstead community just the way it is.
