New Hanover County Sheriff Sid Causey says his department spent close to $65,000 to patrol New Hanover High's Brogden Hall last Sunday night. There was concern among some parents and school administrators the concert could provoke violence. The Department says it had 148 deputies working the event that was projected to have 4,600 attendees.

The wet weather has shut down the rides at the Cape Fear Fair and Expo. Rides and vendors are closed Friday night. Organizers say they're ok with this second night washout because we need the rain. They also say they're not worried about the bottom line.
