On Monday Gov. Mike Easley called on towns and counties across the state to help save water.
Wednesday night Wilmington City Council unanimously passed a resolution upping Wilmington's conservation efforts from voluntary to mandatory -- effective immediately.

Just one day after Gov. Mike Easley's plea for state officials to take action on drought conditions we're learning that the coastal region of North Carolina isn't suffering just yet with regard to water loss.
We haven't seen considerable rainfall in months. Much of the state is experiencing the worst drought in recorded history.
