A toxicology report shows little new info about the death of a special needs girl on a New Hanover County school bus earlier this year. Eight-year-old Jamiah Batts died shortly after arriving by bus at Rachel Freeman School of Engineering February 29.

Local racing team secures title sponsor

A Wilmington based racing team has secured title sponsorship from Waterfall Security Solutions. The company will be supporting the F1000 road racing team in the F1000 Championship and SE Div. SCCA Regional and National events throughout 2012.

The Bears beat Laney. We also featured Ashley's win over Hoggard in baseball along with two softball games from Wilmington.

City hires ballpark project manager, councilmembers say Ripken was the wrong choice

video Wilmington City Council voted to hire National Sports Services, a company based out of Kansas, as their project manager for the proposed ballpark. Council members said Ripken Design, who the city was originally looking to hire, may have had a conflict of interest with Mandalay Baseball Properties.
