video Police in Carolina Beach are looking for a driver who ran over a camper early Sunday morning at Freeman Park. "He was asleep in his tent about 2:30 in the morning and awakened by someone driving over him in his tent," Carolina Beach Police Det. Harry Humphries said.

video The Wilmington Fire Department says the brush fire at 17th street between Independence Blvd. and George Anderson Dr. is now contained. This does not mean that the fire is extinguished and crews are still concerned about possible hot spots and unburned fuel in the fire area.

Silver Alert issued for Bladen County man

A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Bladen County man. The Bladen County Sheriff's Office says Michael Blake Atkinson is a 26-year-old white man. He is 5'11" tall and weighs about 267 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Driver's quick thinking credited with saving lives in bus fire

video A scary field trip for students in Brunswick County, when their activity bus caught fire on the way back to school. It happened this afternoon near NC 87 and Funston Road. Forty people from Leland Middle School were on the activity bus.

FIRST ON 3 UPDATE: Deputy Leland Police Chief resigns

One of the five Leland Police officers suspended last week has quit. Leland Town Manager David Hollis says Deputy Police Chief Karl Smith resigned effective this morning. Smith had been suspended with pay Friday while an internal investigation continues.
