A Columbus County man is dead after being shot in the head in his home Friday evening, according to Sheriff Chris Batten.

Aldermen grant permit for Oceanic pier expansion

It's time to expand. Thursday night, the Board of Alderman approved a conditional use permit for the Oceanic to allow an extra 115 outdoor seats on its pier.
