video Although a smoking ban in Wrightsville Beach was snuffed out a month ago, the fight is not over yet. Supporters of the ban say they are sick of butts on the beach, so they found a loophole in town law to revive their cause.

Bladenboro police arrest suspect in March shooting

Bladenboro police arrested Elijah Caval Davis, 20, of Lumberton and charged him with Attempted First Degree Murder. He is being held in the Bladen county jail under a $250,000 secured bond.

Man arrested for impersonating EMS worker

The Bladen County Sheriff's Office says Daniel Trey Horne, 24, of 33 Rosemont Lane Clarkton was arrested and charged with impersonating an EMS employee on March 23rd.

Area native killed in Hawaii hit-and-run

A Cape Fear native has been killed in a hit-and-run collision in Hawaii. The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports Brody Winslow died in the accident Wednesday in Hilo.

Developers working on private financing for ballpark; taxpayer share unclear

video Securing financing for a proposed baseball stadium will no longer fall on Wilmington's shoulders. Today, the Atlanta Braves and Mandalay Baseball Properties announced the ballpark would be financed and constructed privately. Even so, it will still require an uncertain amount of taxpayer dollars.
