In an effort to continue conservation of precious drinking water supplies, the New Hanover County Water and Sewer District has extended its Conservation Alert to all customers outside the city limits of Wilmington. North Carolina’s statewide drought shows no immediate signs of relief.

The debate over whether the Pender County community of Hampstead should be incorporated is over. The vote wasn't even close. Seventy-two percent of voters said no. If Tuesday night's election results were any indication people like Flack are happy with the Hampstead community just the way it is.
