Stove fire damages mobile home

The call came in a little after 7 a.m. Wilmington firefighters found smoke coming from a mobile home off of Oleander Drive. No one was inside.

Perdue talks issues at grand opening of Wilmington nursing home

video A $13,000,000 nursing home had its grand opening Sunday in Monkey Junction. Hundreds came out to celebrate the occasion and tour the facility, including Gov. Bev Perdue.

UNCW coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke named to the WNBA 15th Anniversary team

The WNBA recognized the top 15 WNBA players of all-time on Saturday afternoon at the WNBA all-star game. UNCW women's basketball coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke made the list. In fact Cooper-Dyke mentioned UNCW in a live interview during Saturday's national telecast on ABC.
