Warm Wilmington winter wasn't as warm as you might think

video Now that we're officially into spring, we can look back at the winter season. Of course, it was really more of a winter that wasn't. It was technically still winter, but throughout the cooler months we kept waiting for the winter wallop that never came. Instead, it was warm, dry and way different than last year.

Pender school board seeks input on shifting high school calendar

video It could be a short summer for high school students in Pender County. Starting classes the first week of August is one option under a proposed school calendar waiver. The reason: the school district wants to implement the Career and College Promise program.

Seven girls face charges in alleged gang fight at school

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is preparing juvenile petitions against seven girls allegedly involved in a fight at a Wilmington middle school last week. Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer says investigators believe the fight Thursday at Williston Middle School was gang related.
