Fletcher reinstated as West Brunswick football coach

After finishing the football season with a 4-7 record last season, West Brunswick High School Athletic Director John Floyd decided to go a different direction with a head coach. Floyd dismissed Jimmy Fletcher as head football coach three months ago, but that decision has been reversed.

A former North Topsail Beach police officer will face charges for allegedly peeping on a teenage girl. Late last month the SBI arrested and charged Casey Allen Simpson with misdemeanor secret peeping.

Public discussion on road closure to build ocean-front hotel in Carolina Beach

Carolina Beach Town Council also held a public hearing to consider closing a portion of Carolina Beach Avenue North in order to move forward in building a hotel on the north end of the boardwalk.

Town Council approves parking fee hike in Carolina Beach

Carolina Beach will see an increase in parking fees this spring. Town Council unanimously voted Tuesday night to extend pay parking by two hours from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Council also voted to increase hourly parking rates by $0.25 to $1.50/hour. All-day parking will also go up one dollar to $8/day.

Carolina Beach town manager says 'road diet' reversal on track for Memorial Day weekend

The reversal of a hotly contested road project in Carolina Beach looks like it will finally be coming to an end. Fattening Lake Park Blvd on Pleasure Island back to four lanes is on track to be completed by one of the busiest weekends of the season.
