Dog dies in Wilmington house fire

A house fire in Wilmington this morning killed a family pet. The fire started around 9 a.m. at a home on Hinton Ave. Crews had it out by about 9:30 a.m.

Lane closures on US 17/74/76 bridges near Leland Sunday

The NC Department of Transportation will temporarily close the northbound and southbound lanes on the US 17/74/76 Bridges across the Brunswick River in Leland Sunday from 9 p.m. until midnight. One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times.
