It's called "Boots on the Ground." The program combines local pastors and Wilmington Police to provide guidance and resources for troubled individuals in the community. A Raleigh attorney is making some big accusations against a Highway Patrol trooper here in New Hanover County. Hoyt Tessener says the trooper accused his wife of driving drunk, but that's just the start of the accusations that Tessener made in a nine-page letter to the Gov. Bev Perdue. Full story...

In an effort to do this, we are showcasing the people and groups doing good around our area and how you can get involved through a series of stories called "Just Add Hope." Crews fighting wildfires in Pender County set controlled burns today to try and get rid of fuel for the flames. Many folks traveling to the area may be worried if their holiday plans will be ruined because of the fire and smoke.
