'Miracle babies' to return home as tornado cleanup begins

A North Carolina family says three children were ripped from their beds by a tornado, throwing one about 100 feet away along a fence lining a highway. All have been released from hospitals and are back with relatives.

Group rallies in opposition to Titan, air permit

videoOver a hundred residents of New Hanover County gathered today to rally in opposition to Titan. The cement company took a significant step towards coming to Castle Hayne earlier this week when they were issued an air quality permit by the DAQ. Protestors say they are not happy with the permit and plan to end the momentum that Titan is building.

Another one bites the dust; Wildcats advance to state finals in basketball

The New Hanover boys basketball raced out to an early lead and never looked back in Saturday's 4-A East Regional final. The Wildcats beat Hoke County 81-48, advancing to the NCHSAA 4-A State Championship.

Drexel tops UNCW in CAA Tourney

Wilmington's Cari Blalock heads to NCAA's

Former New Hanover High swimmer Cari Blalock is clearly one of the most accomplished swimmers to come out of Wilmington in several years. Blalock will be heading to the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships later this month.
