Bladen Co. man arrested for plow theft

Bladen County deputies have arrested a Clarkton man for allegedly stealing a plow out of a field. Alston Lynn Collins, 31, of 356 Bridgers Rd. is charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen property.

video What looked like two separate crimes in Brunswick County now appear to be very closely connected. Shallotte Police say a car chase that ended with a crash involving sheriff's deputies came on the heels of the suspicious death of a young child.

Tense Police standoff has safe ending

It was a tense scene in Wilmington for several hours as police were involved in a standoff near Greenfield Lake. Police say it all began as a domestic assault and escalated from there. Investigators say a woman was assaulted at a home on 1314 south 7th street. She was transported to the hospital.
