Tense Police standoff has safe ending

It was a tense scene in Wilmington for several hours as police were involved in a standoff near Greenfield Lake. Police say it all began as a domestic assault and escalated from there. Investigators say a woman was assaulted at a home on 1314 south 7th street. She was transported to the hospital.

video A Brunswick County veteran had a very special reunion recently with who he long thought was a fallen comrade. Jim Milstead was a riverboat officer in Vietnam. Last month he met up with a friend he thought died more than 40 years ago.

Family still waiting for details on UNCW student's death

A call to New Hanover County Dispatch Friday morning came from a father looking for answers. Wallace Scott called to report his son Bryce missing just a day before the UNCW student's 19th birthday.
