FIRST ON 3: Leland hires interim chief, upholds Jayne firing

Town Manager David Hollis announced Monday he has upheld the firing of former Police Chief Tim Jayne after Jayne appealed the termination. Hollis also announced Mike James as the police department's new interim chief.

Baber found guilty of first degree murder

Matthew Lee Baber was sentenced Monday to life in prison without parole after a jury found him guilty of killing James Murdock in a 2008 drive-by shooting.
