Spill forces lane closure on S. College Road for hours

The truck hauling road paving material began to leak while traveling north on S. College Road. The driver said he thought a cleaning liquid mixed with the tar he was carrying, causing it to expand and spill over the top of the truck.

Daytona 500 now set for 7 p.m. start

NASCAR president Mike Helton says the Daytona 500 will start Monday night at 7 p.m. Heavy rain soaked Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, forcing NASCAR to postpone the event for the first time in its 54-year history.

Work on lines could shut off water in parts of downtown Tuesday

Some homes and businesses in downtown Wilmington could be without water tomorrow. CFPUA crews will repair a water main break near 2nd and Orange during the day. There will also be a line switch on N. 3rd Street overnight.

First house listed at more than $3 million sold since 2010

Intracoastal Realty reached a significant sales milestone this month, with the $3.15 million sale of 14 Southridge Road on Wrightsville Beach, NC. This is the first sale over $3 million in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender counties since October 2010 and the first $3 million-plus sale on Wrightsville Beach since September 2009, according to local MLS data.
