Pender boys hold off Topsail

videoPender boys basketball coach Gary Battle has another solid team this season. The Patriots love to run up and down the court due to all of their athleticism. On Wednesday the Patriots beat Topsail in boys hoops. The Topsail girls were able to hold off Pender though. We checked out game action from both contests.

Stilman White showing patience in UNC return

videoNobody said the transition would be easy for Stilman White. The Hoggard High School graduate is back at UNC. The Tar Heels currently sport a 7-1 record after defeating East Carolina over the weekend. The former Hoggard guard has played in four games this season, but he hasn't scored yet.

ONLY ON 3: Friends remember Carolina Beach fire victim

videoIt's been almost a week since the deadly fires in Carolina Beach and we are learning more about one of the victims. Mary Cochran is being remembered as an active community member and a wonderful friend. Mary has lived on Pleasure Island for 5 years. She was a member of Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir.

Students react to UNCW athletic cuts

More 'Leland Grinch' victims come forward
