UNCW reaches $65M goal year early

The school today said it's reach its goal of $65 million in "The Campaign for UNCW: Soaring to Greatness." The main purpose of the fundraising effort was to increase the number of and funding for student scholarships.

Pender County hires new manager

Pender County has a new county manager. In a 3-2 vote, the County Commission this morning selected Mickey Duvall to succeed Rick Benton, who is retiring.

WWAY's Wednesday night sports - Jan. 25

video On Wednesday night the Old Dominion Monarchs defeated UNCW at Trask Coliseum 53-48. Both teams were ice cold in the first half. The Monarchs shot 50% in the second half though. That turned out to be one of the differences as UNCW falls to ODU. We have highlights from this game on Wednesday's sports. Plus, we've got action from the Brunswick Community College win over Cape Fear Community College.
