Best I can tell, Leland Police Chief Tim Jayne has a free ticket to ride. The man has broken a multitude of policies and laws, yet he skates by with not a slap-on-the-wrist, but more like a light tap.

Pender County hires new manager

Pender County has a new county manager. In a 3-2 vote, the County Commission this morning selected Mickey Duvall to succeed Rick Benton, who is retiring.

WWAY's Wednesday night sports - Jan. 25

video On Wednesday night the Old Dominion Monarchs defeated UNCW at Trask Coliseum 53-48. Both teams were ice cold in the first half. The Monarchs shot 50% in the second half though. That turned out to be one of the differences as UNCW falls to ODU. We have highlights from this game on Wednesday's sports. Plus, we've got action from the Brunswick Community College win over Cape Fear Community College.

Laney wrestler breaks 21 year old record with 5 second pin

ECU will start football series with BYU

The BYU Cougars are coming to North Carolina. The ECU Pirates will host Brigham Young in 2017. This will mark BYU's first appearance in North Carolina for a football game.
