Casey Barth granted medical redshirt

The Atlantic Coast Conference has granted North Carolina place-kicker Casey Barth a medical hardship waiver for the 2011 season. That means the Wilmington native gets a fifth year of eligibility in 2012.

Man allegedly assaulted by Marines dies

A man allegedly assaulted by two Camp Lejeune Marines outside a Jacksonville bar earlier this moth has died. Jimmie Senn died over the weekend at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
