Suspect surrenders in Whiteville murder investigation

A man is in custody after turning himself into police a day after a shooting in Whiteville left a man dead. Whiteville Police say Torres Newkirk surrendered earlier today.

It was back to court today for a New Hanover County Commissioner. He was supposed to have a hearing for allegedly violating a protective order by going to a meeting at the building where his ex-girlfriend Heather Blaylock works.

First Presbyterian bell tower finally gets bells

Man, woman arrested in largest heroin bust in New Hanover history
