Church van accident leaves state without O negative blood

A serious crash involving a tractor trailer and a church van in Transylvania County Wednesday night has depleted our supply of O negative blood in the Asheville area, and we are now utilizing blood supplies from areas across the region. WLOS-TV reports 15 people were taken to area hospitals, including both drivers and 13 passengers. Many of the patients were children.

FIRST ON 3: Teacher admitted texting, blew 0.13 after school-night crash

video Texting and driving is never a good thing, especially if you've been drinking. A New Hanover County teacher admitted she was doing at least of those things when she hit a van last week. Highway Patrol says she was doing the other.

Woman donates $10,000 to make sure families have water this Christmas

video Most of us cannot imagine living without water, but there are hundreds of people in New Hanover County who will spend Christmas without it. A Wilmington woman we spoke with today decided to do something about it. Yesterday she donated $10,000 to help out.

NC gasoline tax to rise almost 4 cents in January to record 39 cents
