Leland town council meeting

The Leland town council held their regular meeting Thursday night. It was a slow night by Leland standards. In fact most of the agenda covered planning board recommendations. Police Chief Tim Jayne was in attendance as were out going town manager Bill Farris and soon to be town manager David Hollis.

FIRST ON 3: SBI, Attorney General investigating Leland Police Department

The North Carolina Department of Justice confirms there is an active investigation into criminal allegations made against the Leland Police Department. DOJ spokeswoman Noelle Talley says the SBI opened the investigation November 1.

World Series champ Trot Nixon lends a helping hand at baseball camp fundraiser next week

video Wilmington native Brack Hardee is battling brain cancer. Former Boston Red Sox outfielder Trot Nixon and several of his friends from the baseball fraternity will be organizing a one day baseball camp fundraiser next week to raise funds to assist in Brack's fight against cancer.

UNCW enjoys 'Wagsgiving' feast

Thanksgiving got an early start today at UNC Wilmington's annual "Wagsgiving" feast. Students lined up early to get a taste of the 1,700 pounds of turkey, hundreds of pounds of mashed potatoes and stuffing and 500 pies.
