LaNasa calls out GOP leaders, quits party after election loss

A day after losing to incumbent Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo, Justin LaNasa is calling out another political leader. In an e-mail this afternoon thanking supporters for their help on his campaign, LaNasa said he will leave "the Republican Party due to its lack of leadership, efforts and knowledge." LaNasa encouraged his supporters to follow his lead.

CFPUA meets for their 2011 annual report

Wilmington residents have had issues with the utility company's billing for quite some time. Wednesday night the CFPUA had its annual meeting and invited the public to voice its complaints.

'Blue Velvet' photo exhibit opens

The film "Blue Velvet" was made in Wilmington 25 years ago, and it helped put the Port City on the movie map. The dark David Lynch drama was set throughout the city, and the part of lead mad man Frank Booth was perfect for Dennis Hopper. Now a cult classic, "Blue Velvet" is being honored with an exhibit of memorabilia and photographs from the production.

Family dog killed by pit bull

video A Wilmington family continues to grieve a week after losing their dog. The Romano family says a neighbor's pit bull forced its way into their backyard and killed their Jack Russell. The family says the dog has attacked before and now they want authorities to hold the owner responsible.
