Candidates for council, mayor participate in forum on green design

With less than four weeks until Election Day, candidates for Mayor and Wilmington City Council participated in a forum Wednesday night. The event was held by Cape Fear Green Building Alliance at the Balcony on Dock in downtown Wilmington. Voters filled the room as a moderator asked the candidates questions on sustainable design, economic growth and building practices.

Former crewman hopes to bring Coast Guard Cutter Midgett to Wilmington

video If a Wilmington man gets his way, you could be climbing aboard a new ship in the Cape Fear River in the future. The Coast Guard Cutter Midgett is still in service, but a former crew member hopes that when the ship is decommissioned it will make its permanent home in the Port City.
