Fourth rabies case of year reported in New Hanover County

New Hanover County Animal Control Services has confirmed the fourth case of rabies for the year. ACS officers were called to a Rabbit Run Road residence on Saturday where a wild raccoon had fought with the homeowner's dogs

Barnes drops out of Leland council race; says council does not share his vision

The Brunswick County Board of Elections says Herbert Barnes dropped out of the race Friday. The Board of Elections also says Bald Head Island candidate Ken Miller died over the weekend. Both men's names will be on the ballot, though, in November.

No charges filed in Tabor City lawn mower death

Tempers flare at New Hanover Co. Commissioners meeting; Updated with video from meeting

video New Hanover County Commissioners voted to pass an amendment to the county's industrial zoning district Monday night. The ordinance will make new companies file for a special use permit, including Titan if or when it comes to the region. The vote came after a heated exchange between one commissioner and the public.
