D.C. Virgo Middle School is closed this school year, but Tuesday night the New Hanover County School Board discussed options to reopen the school. The main option the school system is considering is opening D.C. Virgo back up as a charter school. Full story...

The project, located on Atlantic Avenue, will include public restrooms, a playground and pavilion. The new space has been many years in the making and about $4 million from the town and grants for its development. There was a hiccup in the construction of the 3,500 square foot pavilion.
